According to church tradition, the Last Supper happened the day before the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Christ washed the feet of the Twelve Disciples and offered them bread and wine, saying: “Eat of my body” and “drink of my blood.” This day was named Holy Thursday during which the Mystery of the Divine Eucharist took place.
