Description
Saint George, known as the “Trophy-bearer” (Tropaioforos) and “Great Martyr,” was born in Cappadocia to Christian parents. He served as an officer in the Roman army, where he was distinguished for his bravery. When Emperor Diocletian launched a persecution against Christians, George courageously confessed his faith, refusing to renounce it despite the severe tortures he endured. He suffered martyrdom for Christ and is honored as the protector of soldiers and a beacon of faith for believers in every trial.
