The miraculous icon of Panagia Yatrissa it was found from Jerusalem to Loutraki, through a woman who had traveled to the Holy Land and brought it as a gift to a loved one.

Over the years, the icon performed many miracles and helped many people with health problems, hence its name.

Out of reverence, the residents decided to build a church dedicated to the miracles of the Icon. On the ridge of Taygetos there is also built the Ιερά Μονή της Παναγίας Γιάτρισσας.
